Students are required to complete at least 200 minutes on IXL for ELA over the summer. They will also need to complete an additional 200 minutes on IXL for math as well. This will be a graded assignment based on completion that will be graded upon the students' return to school.
Below are some suggested topics for your child to work on for English/Language Arts. You do not have to do these specific skills, as they are only suggestions. Keep in mind, your child will be graded on the number of MINUTES they spend (200 or more), NOT their score. If they rush through; however, they won't get very many minutes per topic.
Students should ALWAYS be working on at least a 4th grade level.

OFFICE of CHILD PROTECTION
According to the Safe Environment/Child Protection Policy mandated by the Diocese of Baton Rouge, all parish and school ministry volunteers/chaperones must complete a mandatory background check and child protection training.
Child Protection credentials allow the holder of these credentials the opportunity to chaperone/volunteer at MBS Parish and/or School.
All potential chaperones /volunteers must complete and submit the MBS School Chaperone/Volunteer Requirements Agreement and abide by the sign-up and deadline confirmation process for each field trip/ event.
All chaperones/volunteers must have received child protection credentials five school days prior to the field trip/event.
Please note the following: 1. MBS School child protection requirements are not the same as MBS Parish. Therefore if you are compliant for the Parish, you are not automatically compliant for the School, and vice versa. 2. It is important to remember the paperwork is time sensitive. 3. If you begin the process and do not complete all the steps in a timely manner, you may have to resubmit the paperwork.
4. Many files have been archived due to inactivity, and/or files not being updated. Please contact Mrs. Landry at 225-753-5526 or email [email protected] for assistance in receiving the required paperwork or to check on your volunteer status. Chaperone and Volunteer Requirements Agreement 2019-2020 Those adults that have completed the Safe Environment/Child Protection requirements and have been cleared to volunteer at MBS School must complete the Chaperone/Volunteer Requirements Agreement form each year prior to volunteering. The agreement form is an overview of the responsibilities and requirements of chaperones and volunteers. This form will stay in the child protection file and must be updated each school year. Please find the form attached for your convenience.
